The site was hacked a couple of weeks ago, and I've been putting it back together again in bits and pieces since then because I was a bad person and used to update it from different computers. o.O I *think* I've got it all back together again now. But if you find anything that's not working, please let me know.

Travel is good for my fiction writing. Went to a work conference and wrote on the plane, doodled in the conference, wrote when I was at the hotel, and wrote on the way home. ;p So there's a bunch of small updates. Plus, as long as I was going to be updating the fiction pages, I decided to upgrade the pages and the html code, mixing in some CSS, though I'm not totally there yet. Right now, it's just on the main page and the new ficlets. Hopefully I'll keep the momentum going to upgrade the rest.

Um, not much new? The briefly referred to work emergency below has been keeping my department very busy since last October, and we have fewer people now (layoffs in February :( ). But hey, working is how I can earn money to live and eat (and my cats too), so that's good. Hobbies as social stuff I'm still not doing -- I think I got burned out on that in 2002 and I'm still not over it yet. ;p I've also gotten a new apartment, and I'm loving living on my own with just me and my cats. It's very quiet and it's very nice. But no, that doesn't mean I'm writing more. In addition to the work-business, I also finally bullied the doctor into getting some xrays for my back pain that hasn't gone away in six years, and it turns out I have spinal arthritis. ~..~ Which basically means I'm going to have that pain for the rest of my life, and inactivity makes it worse. Extra computer time doesn't sound too likely unless I can figure something out -- I've tried the Dragon Naturally Speaking at work, and like it, but I (obviously) haven't tried story-writing there and I haven't tried it at home yet. Not sure if that will work for the way my mind flows in stories. But can definitely give it a try.

Why yes, I have been ignoring the 'news and rambles' page for ... a long time. ;p On the plus side, if anybody wants to hear me ramble now, I've got a livejournal. :) Wanting to find and share Sky Captain fanfiction finally lured me into the world of ljs. It's been great for reconnecting with friends; I kindof wish I'd joined in long before. But I always resisted because I don't have the time... and I still don't have the time! LOL. Ah well, if it's not one thing, it's another. And as one can tell from that news, I've gotten back into fanfiction, yay! I got inspired by watching Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, and I am greatly enjoying being inspired again. It hasn't happened for awhile now. I've even been pulling out the older ones and looking them over for writing more and *finishing* some. Main problem is I have as little time as before. And smack in the middle of my enthusiasm, there was an emergency at work which meant I basically was in full-work mode for a month (including weekends). But now I'm getting a life again. ^__________^

Work is still busy but now I have a side-promotion to justify it all. ;-) It's nice to be appreciated. Getting some writing done, though not as much as I want. Vacations were great! I just got back from a few weeks in Peru (treat from my Dad :) ). I'll hopefully be putting up the trip journal and pictures soon. And all good intentions aside, it's hard to find the time to write when you're having fun! LOL. :) Shoujocon is coming up in another month; I'm looking forward to that. It'll probably be my last one, though, the people are great but the yearly traveling is starting to really take a toll. Speaking of tolls, one thing that's been affecting output is my lower back that is still shot even after over a year (almost two now). ~..^ It's hard to be on the computer all day at work and then come home and do hobby work on it. Ah well, it's not as bad as it could be. Let's see... I think that's mostly it for momentous events since February <grin>.

Hobbies get dropped, and then work explodes. o.o Okay, I knew we were getting busier, especially with the budget and the reorg, but... It's been fun, though. A lot of expansion of my job and getting to do new things. The communications group is now a three-tiered leg with training, writing, and web-development. I'm still part of the writing team, but now I'm also in charge of the web-development. And I'm getting into project management as well to oversee the systems projects. It's pretty interesting so far. :) Of course, though, my time is now restricted... Good thing I'm going on vacation soon! I'll try and do some of the neglected hobbies then. Oh, and find somebody to feed the fish. ;-p It's a good thing my brother is a good sport!

I dropped some hobbies. Should have more time for things now. These last few months have been rough and everything I was juggling finally came down. But I feel better now that I'm doing what I want to again. When hobbies become work, they're not fun. And it's simply amazing how much politics can enter into such simple things. o.o

Who knows if I'm back for real or not -- I certainly don't know! ~..~ Long tales, and I don't care to tell most of them. I just want life to stop beating up on my friends and family. But as far as the website goes, I'm updating. ;-p General: I moved fiction to a different webarea and got a new email addie for it. Ronda has her own page now, though she hasn't gotten all her artwork there yet. Anime: Shoujocon is over for this year, though work for next year has already started. Yaoi-Con is coming up but this year I'm only doing the Doujin Project and the AMV Contest and the smegging website (hey, it's less than what I was doing last year ;-p). New obsessions in anime are Houshin Engi (Soul Hunters) and Scryed. Jane and its sequel Nullative continue to be a manga obsession so much so that I'm subscribing to the Japanese magazine that carries it. ~..^ Bettas: I'm still editing the FLARE! for the IBC. The local CBS had a good betta show this year, and we'd be looking at next for shows, but our officership has dropped again and I'm trying to pull things together but I just don't have enough time this year when I hadn't planned for it {sigh}. I've still got most of the fish from my last spawn, but I don't have time for a new breeding. I've got several possible ones and actually will have time at home for awhile now, so I might toss a few of them in and see if they'll go for it (when is the next storm? ;-p). Fiction: I've been trying to do *some* here and there... Since March, one short Due South fic, some translated Devil&Devil djs and a YYH Kame dj (okay, they were done by somebody else, but I'm still happy about them), and part two of YYH "Balance of Thought." Sorry, that's it at the moment. Life's been... ah, 'busy' is one word for it. I worked some on Ranma "Revelations pt 3" but I'm just not happy enough with it to release it for public yet. Currently, a Houshin Engi PWP has grabbed my attention and is demanding to be written. The new fiction site is <--old url--> - it's an offshoot of this one and the name on it should be recognizable to more fic fans. :) Details of what got updated this round is in the update.

My website is back! ;-p Though I'm not totally sure about myself yet. Okay, I'm still busy. But I'm trying to spread myself out a bit better than last year. We'll see how well I manage. o.O No promises for how often or when I can update, but at least I won't be moving sites again!
There are several broken links in here, mostly with pictures, as a result of naming conventions getting screwed up in the transfer. I'm cleaning them up bit by bit, but it might be a while before I can get all of them. Sorry about that. ~..^ Also, Ronda's page isn't here yet. I wasn't able to fit it in, spacewise, and she's supposed to be getting her own website anyhow, so both her's and the Betta page are down until I can figure out how I lost space moving over. ;-p
