Hare Talk

Jacine leaned over the plans and left 23 watching back of her neck, her blonde hair falling in waves around her head. "You know, your hair would be really nifty long."

"Huh?" Jacine straightened up and stared at him in surprise.

"Your hair." 23 reached out a hand and ruffled it, "It’s just sortof wavy right now, mostly straight, but it curls so on the ends that I think if you grew it out, it would be quite beautiful." He gestured, fingers looping in the air, "All waves and curls all the way down."

Jacine continued to stare at him a moment, then folded her arms on the table and dropped her head down on them, laughing so hard her eyes were tearing.

"What?" 23 was baffled. He knew Jacine didn’t care that much about her appearance, but still...

Lifting her head, Jacine gulped fresh air, trying to stop laughing. "Oh, the image."

"What?"

When she could, Jacine explained, "When you first spoke to me... I’ve got some rabbits in the back yard, and when you said it would be nifty if my ‘hare’ was long... All I could think of was the rabbits with their legs expanding out like silly putty, jumping over their hutch in a single bound..." She collapsed in laughter again. This time, 23 joined in.
