General Info and Characters

Created Characters:

Larissa - Jacine Mendi: Mechanical Engineer. Works on contract for companies (non-military!). Michael Mendi's sister. Lives in a different city, Gates in to visit her brother (and 23). ~30 years old (year younger than Michael). Blonde hair, Blue-green eyes, pale-anglo. Has a messed up left leg -- limps heavily (if she's not wearing her special boots, she has to use a cane). Was born in the Wasteland and lived her first 8 years (or so) out there with Michael, her mom, and a couple of her mom's friends. Wears clothing that doesn't reveal her implant (Green Implant). Also knows computers (her mom was/is a "real" Hacker, helped invent the VR-InterNet). When kids would tease her or Michael when they were young, Michael would physically intimidate them and Jacine would get into computer records and mess them up or reprogram their VRs. Absent-minded. Tends to wander on Tangent Lines on conversations. One-Tract mind when working on a problem. Has an Eidetic Memory (partial -- when she uses it). Full name used most often, occasionally called 'Jas'.

Ronda - Tethys Marian Hatsu Azami: Weapons & Combat Military person. 68 years old (as of first show). 6' tall. Body-builder. 4 older brothers, 2 went Recessive. Sterile from birth - clear implant. Really long hair. Big appetite. Men's clothing. Likes to wear lavender and jade green clothes. Prefers to be called "Azami" (nick-name: 'Zam). Had literary, interesting parents -- never took youth drug, long dead. Collects black belts in any martial art anyone'll teach her. Spoonerizes when she's really tired. Has a grandma on VR (Grandpa Hiro Tagawa married a caucasian, "Crazy" Renna, who died when Azami was little, but programmed as much of herself onto the then-new VR stuff as she could. Azami sometimes visits.). The physical things Azami likes most about Mendi are his smile and classic proportions. Dabbles in Artistry -- free-time doodler. She "courts" Mendi with massages and tries to get him to laugh often. Her quarters are: walls - blue tile; sparsely furnished (until she meets Tam and goes nuts with plants).

Angela - Dr. Tamlynn McLendon: Ivory Tower Scientist (helping out the RCF -- sort-of RCF Reserve (comes in if they need her)). General Physician / Geneticist / some Biochemistry. Dark auburn red hair (straight, shoulder-length, parted on side). Nick-name: Tam. Eyes: Moss green. Genetically engineered (by Valdoon's dad). She does not have the recessive gene. Clear implant. Athletic build. 65 years old. Works out with Azami. Fellow child-genius with 23, but they haven't seen each other since they were kids. She has been trying to work out a better vaccine for city-born. Thinks the elder Valdoon was an idiot not to have made a better vaccine and botching the youth drug. Lives in (and owns) Dr. Valdoon's old mansion. Likes plants.

Dianna - Rhiannon Alanna Shea: Computers/Communications Specialist. 4'0. Red hair. Nick-name: Rhin. Long time friend of Azami (from 50 odd years ago). Has studied martial arts with Azami & Tam. A musician/singer (alto). Has song archives, a steel harp & a mandolin. Can play any stringed instrument you hand her. Azami has more blackbelts, but Rhin outranks her in Kendo & Jujitsu. Clear implant - Sterile through disease

Mike - Mike M'Kinzie: A driver for the RCF. Wears a cowboy hat.

(Things after an * are things we added.)

Questions:

Bio-diversity collapse / Wasteland.

Where are the refugees and Recs getting their clothes?

How can Ben have a Blue Implant if he never took the Youth Drug and doesn't know if he would go Rec or not? And if he and Sam were married before the Youth Drug stuff, is it just a nice coincidence that they are the same color Implant?

Haven't these people ever heard of Birth Control? Or abortion?

The Craigs of the Pentagon test were only numbered at the age of five. Initially there were an exact 100 embryos. 58 didn't survive to the age of five. That statistic seems to been an inherited trait. None of the Craigs have had many children. Multiple births are also common -- twins and triplets. Between all the Craigs, there are ~22 children.

23's ceiling is decorated with a landscape of the bottom of a reef-coral system.

Mouth-harp: Use to be Wes'. Michael plays it when he's melancholiac.

Other "Thinking Places": Pelegar, the Gardens, Rooftop.

In the VR InterNet, Mrs. Mendi programmed refuge spots for people who were intelligent enough to find them. The desperate, lonely, and misunderstood usually do, and there are plenty of others there to sympathize and listen. The Watering-Hole was specifically set up for kids. There's an initial entry age limitation programmed in, but once someone's been in, they can always get in again no matter how old they get. There are a few older types that hang out and provide a bit of stability for the younger ones. The Old Meadow is another hang-out (not specific to kids). A condition is to show up in an animal form.
